Elden Ring 1.02 2 Patch Notes

Bandai Namco has released the patch notes for the minor update i.02.2 available now to Elden Ring. Information technology fixes some PC performance issues!

Today I woke up to a small patch for my Elden Ring game on Steam. It was but ~thirteen MB in size, but after digging a bit, I found what exactly FromSoftware has changed with it.

On Twitter the official game account lists the following fixes for the game brings with the March 2nd patch:

PC

  • Fixed an issue where the graphics bill of fare was not existence used, resulting in slow performance.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to quit nether sure conditions during a battle with the Fire Giant.
  • Fixed other bugs.

PS5

  • Changes to save game progression even when the game is not terminated.

Yes, not a big one for certain. FromSoft / Bandai Namco didn't fifty-fifty post about information technology on the official game page, only shared this on Twitter.

The PC fixes are important to talk about because PC performance has been underdelivering since the game was released terminal Fri.

Players take been noticing (me included) heavy stuttering and frame drops all over the map of The Lands Between. It's really quite tough to focus on a hard boss fight while your frames bound up and down. And on top of that, I play with a keyboard and mouse controls, which is not really how this game should be played (but I am terrible with a controller in hand).

Later the update, there take been a lot of complaints that it does not set up the stuttering on PC and even causes black screen on loading and game crashes.

Overall this was a very small-scale patch and it is highly doubtful that downloading a few MB worth of a patch will fix the major problems the game has on PC, and to a lesser extent on consoles.

Elden Ring was prised to be a masterpiece, but its technical issues are even so present and the community is expecting a quick resolution so the enjoyment can exist truly 100%.

What I also would like to see implemented equally soon equally possible, si the promised Ray Tracing technology. We know from a previous argument from Bandai Namco that this is planned for the mail service-release of the game, simply there's no data when exactly nosotros will see it. Ray Tracing is still a niche feature that not many players can relish and it's unlikely that they will release it while Elden Ring is still having stuttering and performance bug that demand to be dealt with first.
